CNY isn't just a random holiday (as many westerners feel) - but using a US-centric comparison, combines Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Years in a 2 week period. For many Chinese, and factory workers, it's the 1 time they get to take leave and see their loved ones. The fact, the main event is called a "Reunion Dinner", referring to a banquet w/ family & friends back home. Though the article doesn't go into specifics, I hope Mr. Hickman has done the right thing and made sure the workers were justly compensated. Like I said - I'd love to hear more.
